Happy Fathers Day

We had a great Father's Day weekend one week early. I am way behind in my blog postings and am trying to catch up. We spent the weekend doing fun activities with the kids. I hope Wade had a great Father's Day weekend! The only bad part is that our spring in Washington has been one of the worst ever...constant rain - so we go to Utah and get 55 degrees and rain, while Washington had beautiful 75 degree weather. Bummer!

We met up with Elizabeth and Matt at Fat Cat's to go bowling. The kids ate pizza and we got to put on funky shoes and bowl. I think all of the kids beat me in bowling...not my best sport (if you can call it that). The kids always love hanging out with Elizabeth and Matt and it was a great way to spend a rainy day in Utah.

Fun times at the Gateway Discovery. This is always a favorite and the kids can spend hours here.

We celebrated Father's Day on Sunday. I took the kids to the store and told them to pick out something for their Dad. Bronson is really into watches and numbers right now, so he ran right up to an outdoor thermometer (I think he thought at first it was a clock) and wanted to get him that. Emory specifically told me she wanted to buy her Dad a blanket. When I took her to the bedding section she first picked out a blanked that was $120....I told her it was a nice blanket but her Dad would kill me for spending that much on a blanket for him so she picked out a nice soft brown blanket...much better.

Dear Mr. Bear,

The next time you would like to take our garbage and completely cover our lawn with food, please do not knock over a completely full yard waste container of grass...it is very heavy and not easy to clean up - there is nothing in there for you. Also, the next time you decide to snack in our yard, please do not sit right on my tiger lillies, it took months for them to come up and now they are completely snapped in half. Just a warning if you sit in my flower bed again, Wade has full permission to shoot you. (forgot to take a picture)

Caspar Babypants

Caspar Babypants is a name of a band...they play songs for toddlers and it happens to be the lead singer from Presidents of the United States of America who has put out some children CD's. They were performing for free at Top Pot Donuts in Bellevue and one of Wade's employees was nice enough to let us know. The store was packed and all of the kids were dancing in front of the band and singing along. Alliya was a bit shy at first, but made her way to the floor for a couple of songs she knew ("the nut song" and his version of Mary had a little lamb). We had a great time, and it was a fun activity to do on yet another rainy day.

A weekend with Grandma

So I am really behind in my blog entries and am trying to catch up for the last few weeks. Things have been very busy for both of us with me starting a new job and traveling for training, and Wade is starting the "meeting season" and is traveling all over the place for company meetings in May and June.

Alliya and I were able to visit my mom while Wade was in Utah a few weeks ago, and we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather (although I think we had 3 weeks of rain after that). We dropped the puppies off (she is nice enough to dog-sit for us when we are both out of town), so it gave us an excuse to have a girls weekend with my mom and we were also able to visit my Aunt Susan and my Grandma. Alliya "helped out" in my mom's garden and loved filling the watering can and watering all of the flowers. She is learning about seasons and spring and how flowers grow in preschool, so she was very excited to explain it to us.

Sex and the City 2

I have the best girl friends ever and love to have "girl time" with them. They even postponed going to the premier of Sex and the City 2 until Friday since I was on the east coast with work. Here is how my day went...got up at 5:30am EST (2:30am our time) to catch a flight home from Louisville (nothing is direct to Seattle). Get home and spend time with Wade and Alliya. Go with Karen to meet up with Tracie and the girls in Bellevue for the 8:30pm showing, while my loving husband stays home with Alliya. Get home at 11:30 and check on Alliya....this is when I realized the poor thing had just pooped the bed and she was then up every 2 hours all night. Poor thing must have eaten something bad, but luckily she felt fine the next morning...it just made for a long 30 hours.

I have to say I have the most understanding and loving husband ever. The girls changed the night so I could go, but I still wasn't sure if I would go since I hadn't seen Wade all week long. He told me that I should go out with the girls and he would put Alliya to bed shortly after I left. He is always so understanding and loving with these things...I love you!

Wii Cheer - Mom Kicks Butt!

We set up the Wii upstairs to actually start using it. Wade got me Wii fit plus for Mothers Day (don't judge...I really wanted it, he didn't make the mistake of getting me something workout related for Mothers Day without me asking him to). So Wade, my mom, Alliya and I started with Wii fit and ended with Wii cheer. My mom kicked all of our butts! She is born to play Wii fit. Wade also learned that he needs rotator cuff surgery....sad to say he hurt his shoulder playing Wii cheer.

The Perfect Pet for Wade

Wade has finally found what he thinks is the perfect pet. He tolerates the fact that we have dogs...and will probably always have dogs, but he is truly excited about this pet. Wade now has a great horned owl...and it is plastic. We are having pigeon problems and to be nice to our neighbors that aren't really excited about shooting things...he bought a plastic great horned owl. He loves that you can leave and you don't have to take care of it, he loves that it is plastic and he gets to move it around the yard every day...and it stays, he loves that it is actually keeping the darn pigeons away, and lastly but most importantly he loves the fast that he got to name it "Horny"...he insists that it is because it is a great horned owl. I love that Wade is so easy to please...

Happy Mothers Day!

Mothers Day was absolutely wonderful....we had beautiful weather and enjoyed the day with friends.

Early afternoon a few of the Mom's in the neighborhood decided to take the kids to get a smoothie and let them play and order a little light lunch. The older girls love pushing Alliya in the stroller and playing with her, they have so much fun together.
Alliya and Olivia
She is so excited with her strawberry Banana smoothie...yum!
Playing with Cooper while getting snacks on the ridge...she likes pretending she is a dog...I don't ask, I just go with it.
While waiting for the food they gave us free smoothies for Mothers Day in fun glasses. I am not sure if I was a fan, it was strawberry/basil...I think I liked Alliya's much better but it was such a nice thought. Here we are...Karen, Michelle, Me and Cindy. It was so nice to be able to let the kids play and enjoy the nice sun outside.
Alliya with her Mother's Day gift to me...she went to the store with Wade and picked it out all by herself.
Pink flip flops! They are perfect. Apparently Wade told her to pick something out and she immediately went to get a toy vacuum and so Wade had to instruct her to pick out something for mom, not something she would like....she thought for a second and said "mom wants shoes...sparkly shoes". After hearing that story I wasn't sure what to expect but I absolutely love them and love the fact that she picked them out herself.
Wade tried to distract her and change her mind to a few different pairs...zebra print heels, green camo shoes, furry boots (he thinks he is so funny) she stuck to the first pair she picked out and was so excited to give them to me....did I say that I love them?!?
Playing in the sun with all of our friends.
I am not sure what the fascination kids have with bubbles, but it is always a favorite. Hours of entertainment!
Matty and Alliya....all of the girls love taking care of Alliya and playing with her.

By the time the night was over the neighborhood was covered in sidewalk chalk.

Thank you to Wade, Alliya and all of our great friends for an awesome Mothers Day!

Night on the town

We had tickets to go see Rob Schneider Saturday night with our friends Karen and Jeff. We started the night with dinner at McCormick and Schmick's downtown Bellevue and then the night started going down hill when we tried to go see the show upstairs in the Parlor. The night was fun, but turned out to be overbooked and a little bit of a hassle at the Parlor. So sorry to Karen and Jeff for a crazy night....at least it started out fun.

The four of us always have fun and go out about once a month. Always fun to get out for a night on the town.

Shooting a raw oyster...I don't really have a desire to do that again.
Karen trying the oyster, she was a little more appropriate using her fork.

Lesson For The Day

Lesson for the day...if eggs get hot enough the will explode. Lets just say I started some egg to hard boil and went upstairs to do some work and was startled by a loud exploding noise...egg all over the kitchen. Good to know.

Bob the builder...

Weekend Project

This weekend our project was to rebuild my mom's fence for Mother's Day. It was the original fence from when the house was build 50 years ago and has been in bad shape for a while. We had a bad wind storm a few weeks ago and it finally blew it over and a she needed a new fence. We went over Friday night and Wade was able to dig the post holes and cement them in place in about 3 hours. Saturday morning we both went out there and started on the fence and had it complete in about 3 hours. 6 hours for a new fence...not that bad.

The old fence...it has seen better days.
Mom couldn't help build the fence but she helped haul in all the material.
Wade did all of the post and supports, I hammered all of the sections up, and he cut the final pieces.
The completed project - much better....and Chihuahua proof!
